The UN General Assembly (UNGA) Member States have adopted by consensus a Resolution (A/RES/74/270) on COVID-19 that calls for “international cooperation” and “multilateralism”. It calls for “intensified international cooperation to contain, mitigate and defeat the pandemic, including by exchanging information, scientific knowledge and best practices”. It stresses “the need for full respect for human rights” and states that “there is no place for any form of discrimination, racism and xenophobia in the response to the pandemic”.UNGA Engagements and operations have moved to cyberspace, with ambassadors and diplomats working from their missions or from home. Please see the first JCoR  (Justice Coalition of Religious)  newsletter.There were a number of  meetings organized by JCoR  before the Pandemic- 2 MMS from Uganda attended  the Africa regional Forum and in Mumbai 2 MMS from Unit North India attended the workshop.

April 22 is the 50 Anniversary of the Earth day, theme Climate Action :  Happy Earth day!  https://www.un.org/en/observances/earth-day

The UN2020 campaign is working to develop a civil society Declaration and Plan of Action to be adopted at the UN75 People’s Forum for the UN We Need, taking place on 23-24 April 2020. This Campaign is to Create a UN Parliamentary Network as an advisory body to the UN General Assembly.

MMS Response to COVID 19:  The UN Department of Global Communications is one among the many requests for MMS Response to COVID 19. Some of the news from Intranet and Face book are collated and submitted. Interviews by Global Sisters Report and various groups like Faith and Climate Action are asking for the same.
